Who’s “we”?

Currently, when I say “we”, it’s really the royal we ’cause right now it’s just me (Rosie). 😁  However, in the near future, I’d love to recruit some incredibly compassionate, experienced, trustworthy folks to work with. Either as official RW team members or as part-time helpers that will deliver the same level of custom quality care + love we provide. #communitynotcompetition #ittakesavillage

What neighborhoods do you cover?

For walks + runs we cover:

•  Beaverton  •  Bethany •  Hillsboro •  Southwest Portland •  Tigard •  and the areas in between

For pet sitting, we cover all the same areas but we’re open to extending outside of them (as long as the commute is reasonable).

If your area isn’t listed, please include it in the comments section of the contact form and we’ll work with you to find the best solution.

What forms of payment do you take?

We accept cash, check, or credit card.

Our clients tend to prefer:

  • Venmo (search for: Rosie Walks)
  • PayPal (send to: rosie@rosiewalks.com)
  • Quickbooks (that’s the billing system we use; it’s super easy to pay with!)

ARE YOU AVAILABLE DURING THE HOLIDAYS TOO?

We are! And, annnd it’s only $5 extra per service during the holidays. Our holiday calendar is filled with tons of stuff (umm, national pizza day) but we only charge extra during federal holidays:

  • Christmas + New Year’s weeks (December 20th – January 2nd)
  • Martin Luther King, Jr. Day (third Monday in January)
  • Washington’s Birthday (third Monday in February)
  • Memorial Day weekend (Fri – Mon)
  • 4th of July weekend (Fri – Mon) and 4th of July day (if it lands between Tues – Thurs)
  • Labor Day weekend (Fri – Mon)
  • Columbus Day (second Monday in October)
  • Veterans Day (November 11th)
  • Thanksgiving week (Sat – Sat)

For out-of-the-norm bookings, what happens if do a same day booking on a Sunday that happens to be a holiday too?

Ah, yes the trifecta of out-of-the-norm bookings which sounds complicated but we make it easy! We only apply 1 surcharge at a time, for example: let’s say you call on Sunday at 9am for a 30 min. walk during Memorial Day Weekend, the cost of the walk would be $25 ($5 extra for the service).

Oooooh, it’s soooooo easy! Step 1 is a 45 – 60 min. meet-and-greet sesh with you + your pup(s). We’ll go over all the special details that’ll help us give your pup(s) the best possible care + love out there.

HOW MANY OF MY ADORABLE PUPS ARE INCLUDED IN THE DOG WALKING COSTS?

The dog walking base prices are for 1 dog. If your fur family is big (like ours), we’ll walk the whole fam together* and it’s only $3 more per dog/per walk.

*in order to walk the fam together, they all need to be good on leashes, friendly and be able to keep up with each other.

WHAT’S YOUR DOG WALKING CANCELLATION POLICY?

For dog walking, a courtesy text/email/phone call 24hrs in advance is required and doesn’t accrue charges (advance notice is always rewarded!).

For the moments when life happens quicker than you can say “Xoloitzcuintli”, we still appreciate the text/email/phone call – however – we will charge 100% of the cost of the walk.

WHAT ARE YOUR WALKING HOURS?

Our regular walking hours are Mon – Fri, 9am – 4pm.

We provide on-call (same day bookings) + after hour (M – F, 5pm – 9pm) + weekend (Sat/Sun, by appointment only) walks for an additional $5 per walk.

I HAVE A SENIOR DOG (7+ YEARS YOUNG) WHO NEEDS A LITTLE EXTRA TLC. DO YOU HAVE EXPERIENCE WITH SENIORS?

We LOVE senior pups and have 2 special ones in our fur family. We definitely have experience with seniors and we’ll do everything we can to make sure they’re comfy, safe, and get their outside time.

During our meet-and-greet, we’ll go over all the important details but just to give you an idea, these are a couple things we have to help those extra special pups: “doggie backpacks” for pups up to 20 lbs., “doggie wagon” for pups up to 100 lbs, and appreciation for short slow walks.

Every pup moves through life at their own speed, we’re here to enjoy the journey right alongside them.

The dog running base prices are for 1 dog. If you have 2+ pups* at home that you’d like run, let us know and we can work together to figure out the best solution.

*each additional pup will be $10 extra per dog/per run

IYH Pet Sitting

HOW MANY OF MY ADORABLE PETS ARE INCLUDED IN THE IYH PET SITTING COSTS?

For Overnight IYH Pet Sitting, the base prices are for up to 2 dogs (or 3 cats) or a combination of both up to 3. Each additional dog or cat is $4 per pet/per day. Small pets (ie. fish, birds, hamsters, turtles, etc.)* are an additional $2 per pet/per day.

For Drop-in IYH Pet Sitting, the base prices are for up to 3 cats (or 4 small pets) or a combination of both up to 4. Each additional cat is $4 per pet/per day. Small pets (ie. fish, birds, rabbits, turtles, etc.)* are an additional $2 per pet/per day.

*for pets that most commonly come in multiples (like fish and birds), we charge for the tank/cage not per pet (’cause if we charged per fish, that would just be silly!)

WHAT’S YOUR IYH PET SITTING CANCELLATION POLICY?

For Overnight + Drop-in IYH Pet Sitting, a courtesy text/email/phone call at least 5 days in advance is required and doesn’t accrue charges (advance notice is always rewarded!).

For the moments when life happens quicker than you can say “Xoloitzcuintli”, we still appreciate the text/email/phone call – however – we will charge 50% of the cost of the pet sitting booking.

YOU DON’T NEED TO BE AT OUR HOUSE 24/7 BUT, OUT OF CURIOSITY, HOW OFTEN WILL YOU BE THERE?

Su casa, es nuestra casa while you’re away! For Overnight IYH Pet Sitting, your humble abode becomes our home base so we’ll be there as often as possible. We’ll still be walking/running our other adorable clients, as well as, attending any prior commitments but other than that, our time is dedicated 100% to your pets + home.

Can my pup spend their staycation at the sitter’s home instead?

Although we’d love nothing more than to have a snuggly sleepover staycation with your pup at our home, we currently don’t offer this option for pups. We will offer it in the future, just not quite yet.

WHAT IF YOU HAVE 2 CLIENTS ASKING FOR PET SITTING SERVICES DURING THE SAME TIMEFRAME, DO YOU DOUBLE-BOOK?

All of our services are based on a first come, first served basis so we don’t double-book. If we have 2 clients who are looking for our custom quality care + love for their pets + home during the same timeframe, we’ll schedule step 1 (meet-and-greet sesh) with both clients to review all pet sitting needs. Then, the first client to book by providing (the required) 50% deposit will be placed in our schedule with permanent marker (or pen, whatever’s more practical).

Drop-in IYH Pet Sitting primarily for cats + small pets, why is that?

We offer Drop-in IYH Pet Sitting for pups on a special request basis only because we believe that short drop-in visits – over an extended period of time – aren’t enough to satisfy your pup’s need for exercise, interaction, and affection. Pups love to be loved and need as much consistency in their lives as possible, overnights are really the best way to provide them exactly what they need while you’re away. However, if you would like drop-ins only, we’re definitely open to working with you to create the best solution.

Now, you might be asking, why are cats + small pets any different? Well, even though cats + small pets have the same needs, they have a higher threshold that allows them to spend (and enjoy) alone time for longer periods of time. Making them the perfect candidates for drop-ins.
